Chris Bair is a technology and computer geek. He became involved in the nutritionally complete "future foods" movement in January 2014, originally with a conventional recipe and later switching to a high fat, low carb "ketogenic" variant on October 2014. In January 2015 he created the recipe for Keto Chow and released it without restriction for anyone to use, at the same time he began mixing the recipe up for people that wanted a finished product and has seen steady growth in the business every month since.
I got a great email from a Keto Chow user this afternoon, I asked permission to share it (since I’m always seeking confirmation). I’ve edited a few spelling errors but that’s it. TL;DR Male/28 5’7″, start weight 185, hit goal weight of 130. (I’m small framed/boned). I just wanted to thank you for this product, […]
11 months ago I attended DreamForce 2014. It was really good. It was also the “the straw that broke the camel’s back.” The sheer amount of weight I gained during the conference convinced me to make some changes and start Keto. Attached to this post is the headshot taken last year during DreamForce next to […]
Doing something like Keto Chow in a hotel room presents some interesting issues. I’ve done another “soylent” in hotels before and Keto Chow while camping. I’m using a couple tools to make this all work in my hotel room. A refrigerator. Doesn’t come standard in the room though a quick call to the front desk […]
WARNING: the following is geeky devops/sysadmin stuff that has nothing to do with keto. I moved servers quite recently and in the process went from Apache to Nginx. Nginx is indeed much faster but it has come with a pretty steep learning curve to get everything working right. And today I ran into a problem […]
A great article that talks about how diet advice ignores hunger can be found here: https://www.nytimes.com/2015/08/30/opinion/diet-advice-that-ignores-hunger.html?_r=0 As described on Reddit: An excellent article highlighting the differences between fat and carb restricted diets, and the aftermath when people end them, and the effect that carbs have on increased hunger. Gary Taubes is the guy that wrote “Why […]
Since my wife switched from “Whole30” to keto I’ve been burning through blender bottles much quicker. We finished the last round this morning. So I mixed up some chocolate fudge using all of the blender bottles that weren’t in the dishwasher. Took about 20 minutes, ended up with 10 of them. That won’t even last […]
This article does a great job distilling down how messed up the “Generally Accepted Dietary Wisdom” is on Cholesterol. Everything You Know About Cholesterol Is Wrong Some of the things he wrote lead me to believe he’s at minimum aware of ketogenic diets and maybe even doing keto/paleo. There’s also an excellent section “Beyond Good […]
